69K on tires that have performed well. They have at least another 7K on them. I will buy another set of ALTIMAX RT43.
I have always purchased Michelin tires in the past, which created excessive road noise. Last month, I changed to General Altimax tires. Best decision ever! The tires are quiet and the dry and wet handling is wonderful.
A great tire that puts a lot of more expensive ones to shame.
Wonderful ride, quiet and smooth. These tires improved the handling of my van. Great tires.
So - I bought a set of four of these tires, and initially, I was pleased. They were quiet, and they seemed to have the car handling well. I have about a 25 mile commute on paved secondary roads at max speeds of around 80 km/hr (50 mph) and all seemed fine. The problem for me is that the tires did not wear well at all. They were rated to 105,000 km, and I run winter tires in the winter season, so they were only on the car half the year, but they were completely done at around 50,000 km. I'm 62. I don't drive the car hard, and they should have lasted much better. I wouldn't recommend them for longevity.
I have over 86,000 miles on these tires. They are starting to crack, so I definitely need new ones very soon. But I'm definitely going with these tires again. I got money's worth then some!!!
This is the 2nd time I've bought these tires and I like them a lot! For the price and quality I couldn't beat them!
I liked these tires so much that I'm getting them for my daughter's Subaru. Excellent traction on all surfaces, but really shine in wet conditions and snow. Also spent a month in Arizona camping and driving off-road over rough terrain ... no punctures and traction was amazing. Highly recommend!
Awesome tires! No matter what speed, they have a Smooth ride, quiet, and great traction. Put them on my 2008 Pontiac G6. CONS: They cut easily(if ya hit a curb).
Decent tire, great traction in snow. Tire is very thin though, cuts easily.
My car lost control, fishtailed, and literally FLIPPED OVER while using these tires under normal operating conditions in very cold weather. Had 65%+ tread remaining (~20k miles usage). While driving at normal highway speeds in very cold weather (0F) and zero snow on the roads, my rear end slipped out on a slight turn without any warning and sent my car careening sideways into the highway median, where my car started flipping. Can provide proof of my speed and the seemingly arbitrary nature of this incident on dashcam. Lucky to be alive. No other cars in the group around me had this issue. Would not buy again.
I have ran these tires tire over 70,000 miles and the tires are still quite, have 6/32's tread left and are worth every penny.
The General RT 43 is an excellent choice for New Yorkers. The heat range for wear is one of the best assuring you that tread wear will be maximized at any climate condition. The all weather tread design keeps you going in winter and through the rain throughout the spring, summer and fall. Because it is a popular choice you will find this tire available at most tire stores so in case of a sidewall mishap it can be replaced in reasonable time.
Had a set of Altmax HP'S on my Hyundai Elantra and they were excellent. These Altimax RT43 tires are not the same and were very mediocre on wet traction and snow traction (which is very important to me). Won't be buying these again.
This is a good tire I have had them on for about a month now. My only issue is they are noisy. Other than that these are so good tires.
I bought these tires mostly based on customer reviews. So far I am very happy with them. Bought our Terrain used and it had mix matched tires on it. After installing these tires and getting a 4 wheel alignment. The truck handles great, there is very little if any road noise. Haven't tested them in the snow yet, but I'm in Indiana so I'll get a chance this coming winter. Great tire for the cost. I'm getting the same tires on my 2008 Chevy Malibu LT next week.
replaced the OEM Tires on my 2015 Subaru Forester Last week as the tires were Bridgestone Dueler 400 H/L.. and they handled very poorly in wet weather... and even worse in snow.. did research on the General Altimax RT43.. and what a difference in road response... handles 100 times better in the rain... and no road noise from the tire.. also the Subaru rides a little softer now, not stiff like with the duelers... I have not driven in any snow as of yet.. but i'm sure these new tires will still handle well.
Just got them installed today. Great grip on snow. You can feel great grip on wet and dry weather. Great choice.
Just bought these tires; replacing Michelins. Ride just as good, handle just as good, just as good in the rain. Don't know wear yet. So far so good - great tire for the money.
I'm getting ready to purchase my 3rd set of these tires on three different vehicles. Excellent tire and very reasonable price. I have recommended these tires to several people and they too have been pleased.
Excellent tires. I am very happy with them. 35,000km and have not had any problems.
Tires were to replace my stock Hankooks from the factory. These sound so much better and ride very nice for low budget tires. Highly recommend for cheap factory tire replacements.
Excellent value for the money. Good performance. I would highly recommend.
After driving in dry/wet/snow with these tires, I can say that I am satisfied with them so far. They get the job done and are at a great price.
After seeing the reviews and having them recommended to me from a trusted source, I purchased 4 tires. With the snow we just got, the tires performed great. Down hills, up hills, and around curves, these tires really grip and have amazing traction compared to the OEM tires that came with the car. Thanks.
Changed from the OEM Kumho Solus KH25 which were barely adequate to perform as an A.S. tire when the weather changed to wet weather or temps below 50. The new Generals are far quieter and offer great traction in all conditions. I am looking forward to seeing how they perform in the white stuff. Highly recommend.
Great tires.
I put these tires on after doing a lot of research on the net. That was about 22,000 miles ago. Been through about every kind of weather in Minnesota since. Extremely happy with the performance vs cost. Only got stuck once with them last winter but the whole car got lifted off the ground so not the tires fault. Ice, snow, slush these were very very good and pretty close to a snow tire but you can run these year round. Seem to be wearing good through the summer. I like the stiffer side wall for sure and I think that will make them last as I tend to beat my cars I use for work and for the money you can't go wrong with this tire. Mine are 185/65/15
A really great tire and I am glad to feel safe for my husband who drives the car everywhere. Thank you for your excellent product.
After researching thoroughly for best fit, top quality longer life tires, I found the RT43 to be the choice for my '02 Corolla CE. And where other retailers estimated 3-7 days delivery for install, this shop had them in-stock and quoted the best price over all others. Arriving early, my car was nearly immediately up on the rack being tended. Time from arrival to payment was less than 45 minutes and I was informed of front brake pads nearing end-of-life. Everyone at the shop was courteous friendly and professional. And I got a free cup of coffee as well. Tires are perfect match for my vehicle and have a sharp tread pattern for my economy car. Performance to date has been excellent. Dry Pavement Traction - Superb and sure-footed. Cornering Stability - Exceptional, has improved car's responsiveness, especially on higher speed curves. Hydroplaning Resistance - High confidence even in downpours. Feels much safer. Wet Traction - Excellent: tires grip very well. Steering Response - Response is sure and quick. For an economy car, these tires add some fun to driving. Snow/Winter Driving - Purchased at start of Spring so no experience on them yet. I expect very good traction akin to wet traction being excellent. I would recommend these tires, especially for 8th Generation Corolla or Geo Prism. And from blogs and comments I've researched, I'm hoping to get a solid 4-5 years out of these depending on miles driven. And finally I highly recommend this shop for tires on price and installation. If I lived closer, I would also try out other services. Will drop by for free rotation as scheduled. Five Stars all around.
These tires are a great value and have good traction, even when going uphill with only 2 of the front. These tires still grip.
Great tires
These are great tires. I would definitely buy again.
